Rockstar, her return album from last autumn, was one of the most successful and anticipated albums of her career. Throughout the performance, she covered numerous rock classics and also performed some amusing, unique songs that did not belong to that genre. Months after that set became the star’s biggest hit, she’s returning with even more rock songs.
Parton surprised her numerous fans on Friday, January 19, the day she turned 19, by releasing new music. The singer-songwriter might have written enough fresh music for an additional album, not just a couple of tracks.
A surprise album by Parton was not, however, released. In its place, the country star augmented the already thrilling Rockstar album with nine brand new tracks, creating a truly spectacular deluxe edition. With 39 tracks, the nearly three-hour CD is already somewhat lengthy. Thirty tracks were there before.
With the remark, “It’s my birthday, so I’m going to give you a gift!” the top singer shared the joyful news on X (previously Twitter). My birthday present to myself is the Rockstar album and four previously unreleased songs. Some of these songs might be familiar to you, although they didn’t make the album. I wish you a wonderful birthday! I hope you enjoy them! Laugh out loud.
Songs like “Rockin’ It,” “Stay Out of My Bedroom,” and “Mama Never Said”—which she wrote and performed—are rocked up in the new album. Parton also performed a number of other rock hits, giving the classics her own special touch just like the other Rockstar members did. Eddie Money’s “Two Tickets to Paradise,” Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” Billy Joel’s “The Entertainer,” and the Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” were among the tunes she sang.
Parton treated her fans to yet another rendition of her smash hit “Jolene,” as if they still needed more music. Måneskin, an Italian rock band, and the original singer are currently performing the popular song as a duet.
Months prior to its November 2023 release, Parton generated much buzz about Rockstar. A few of her singles reached the top of the Billboard charts, and she even broke into the rock charts with one of her many releases. At No. 3 on the Billboard 200, the album became her highest-charting solo effort to that point.
